Two games, one date: reading a doubleheader
A doubleheader places two baseball games on the same day. That makes the game number as useful as the opponent when you are choosing a listing. Team names and a date alone may no longer be enough to identify the contest you want to watch.
Keep Game 1 and Game 2 distinct
Treat the two meetings as separate events. Each has its own start, result and viewing information. If you save a link or add a reminder, include the game number. This prevents a return to the completed first game when you intended to join the second.
The starting pitchers and lineups can also differ. Confirm the information attached to the selected meeting rather than copying the first game's details into the second. A team playing twice does not mean the same players fill every role in both contests.
Read a flexible second start carefully
Some listings give the second game a fixed time; others describe a start after the first game ends. A relative start is a condition, not a promise that play will begin at a particular clock time. Read the organiser's wording and check for an update as the first contest reaches its conclusion.
If a schedule shows a provisional time, keep that qualification with your reminder. A long first game or an interruption can affect the viewing plan. Do not infer a cancellation simply because the second contest has not begun at an estimated hour.
Recognise a resumed game followed by a new one
Completing a suspended game and then playing a scheduled fixture is a different situation from starting two fresh games. A suspended contest continues from its stopping point. Check the inning and score so that you understand why coverage can begin with play already well advanced.

Give each viewing option its own check
Do not assume that a provider showing the first meeting will automatically carry the second on the same feed. Review the supplied programme information for both games, particularly when a channel changes its schedule between them.
Return to the MLB event directory for the second game's listing after the first contest finishes. When watching from a different time zone, convert each start separately; a same-day doubleheader at the venue can cross midnight for you. Save both appointments with their game numbers.
